Wanda Lee Reynolds

Wanda Lee Reynolds, aged 100 years and 6 months, passed away peacefully in her sleep, January 3, 2024. She was born June 29, 1923, in Vernon, TX to Albert Arthur Lloyd and Lillian Jane (Thorton) Lloyd. The family moved to Wichita Falls, Tex in her very young years where she attended school up through her high school graduation. She attended a small community college in Wichita Falls after that.
Her family moved to San Angelo, Texas and that became the family home until the death of her parents. Wanda was loved by all who knew her throughout her life. It was in San Angelo that she met her husband, James W. (Jay) Reynolds, at a community dance hosted by the DeMolay chapter in town. Their love of dance brought them together, and the music played on for the 70 years they were married.
Wanda’s only job in life was that of a “Home Maker”. As the wife of an Air Force Officer and pilot, she travelled from place to place making homes out of houses for her family. She was very active in the Officers Wives club, serving in many charitable and humanitarian efforts at each tour of duty.
Over the years, she went from wife and mom, to grandmom, to G-G Mom. At her death, she was the matriarch of 4 generations. Her life was blessed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her brother, James Thorton Lloyd, her parents, Arthur and Lillian Lloyd, and her granddaughter, Jaylee Miley.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Jane (Reynolds) Lunsford, son-in-law, Jerry Lunsford; son, Jay Reynolds; granddaughter, Melanie (Lunsford) York, grandson -in-law, Claude R. York; great-grandson, Jayson D. Moore and granddaughter-in law, Kayla (Brock) Moore; and great-granddaughter, Tessa Jayne York.
Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Wanda, are invited to the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034 to celebrate the life of this beloved lady.
