Virginia Dee Garrett, 84, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. Virginia was a 40-plus-year resident of Colleyville. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. She was born Virginia Dee Custer on May 20, 1931, in Runge, the daughter of John Rutledge Custer and Alice Viola Sharp Custer. Virginia married Thomas Clifton Garrett on Feb. 21, 1953, in Kingsville. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, Jonny Carroll Custer. Survivors: Sons, Philip Clifton Garrett and wife, Julie, of Canton and Thomas Randel Garrett and wife, Jeanette, of Boyd; grandchildren, Justin Randel Garrett and wife, Crystal, of Boyd, Tami Jo Garrett Barton and husband, Aaron, of Granbury; great-grandchildren, Cherish, Allison, Faith, Hope and Hannah.
