Tim was a proud graduate of Keller High School, where he played Varsity basketball. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University where he was a member of the Golden Key, Alpha Lamba Delta, Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies while also being named to the President’s and Dean’s list for academics. During his professional career, Tim was a technical recruiter for TEKsystems for 14 years and spent the last 11 years as a Customer Service Director at Microsoft.
As a sports fan and devoted family man, Tim coached his children in 5 basketball, 3 soccer and 2 baseball teams over the last 17 years in north Texas. It was not uncommon to see him shooting hoops on the driveway, manicuring his picturesque lawn and landscape, golfing, or fishing and boating at Possum Kingdom Lake. And his love of Texas Tech sports was probably outmatched only by his love of the holiday season, where he displayed a sizeable array of festive inflatables and lights in his front and back yards.
As a servant leader and follower of Jesus Christ, Tim deeply loved his faith and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (SEAS). He was an altar server at the parish’s first mass in 1985, and the first mass at the current Willis Road site in 1988. His three children all attended SEAS Catholic School. Tim was also an exceptional godfather, shaping the faith of three godsons and two goddaughters.
He is survived by his wife and love of 23 years, Michele Soppe Stopper, and their beloved children Ryan, Lauren and Luke; mother Ann Stopper; siblings and their spouses Mike (Geri), Loreen (Adrian) Moreno and Erin (Tom) Orbzut; cherished in-laws Harry (Hook) and Jan Soppe, Travis Soppe, and Clint (Carrie) Soppe; nieces Kaitlyn, Hadlee, Annabelle, Elizabeth, Landry and Isla; nephews Jacob, Travis, Trevor, Adrian, Matthew and Isaac; godparents Carol Damlos and Robert Damlos; and an abundance of family in Chicago, Pennsylvania, New York and Iowa. He is predeceased by his hero and role model Bill Stopper; grandparents Fred and Gertrude Lundgren, and Ambrose, Annatheresa and Mary Stopper; goddaughter Ainslee and his two beautiful, miscarried babies Anna and Faith.
