Sherry was born on July 6, 1955, in Borger, Texas to Curtis, a Baptist preacher, and Wanda Jo Brazeal, a seamstress, and loving mother. Much of her early life was spent being supported by the church communities her father served. In High School, Sherry was voted Most Flirtatious, which perfectly reflects the way she could be comfortable and sparkle around anyone. She loved to dance, and taught swing lessons in her young adult life.
She married Daniel Hanisko in 1983. Together they had and raised their two children, Ashley and Preston. They lovingly went their separate ways 18 years later. In that time, they created a home that shaped their children’s lives in many valuable ways. Sherry loved to travel, watch movies, and do arts and crafts with her children, and later with her grandson, Ezra. "Mimi" taught her family many songs and Bible verses at bedtime.
2020 was a special year for Sherry. She got married on Leap Day, February 29, 2020, to her forever love, Dennis Jones. Together they built their dream home which was completed in late January 2021. The years they spent together were filled with love, laughter, traveling, and spending quality time with their many friends.
Anyone that knew Sherry experienced her love and generosity. Her absence leaves everyone in her life with a hole that cannot be filled. She openly gave time, energy, love, and support with no expectations in return. We can learn a lot from her and will do our best to be more like her.
Sherry is survived by her husband Dennis Jones, her two children Ashley Hanisko and Preston Hanisko, her grandson Ezra, and her mother Wanda Jo Brazeal.
