Sandy Cox Arnold loved life! She was born on September 21, 1957 to Raymond and Lula Belle Cox and left to be with her Savior on April 28, 2018 after receiving a call that her work here was done. The sort of offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This endeavor comes with a huge welcome bonus and a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new pursuit takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and singing to her heart’s content. Music, laughter, and love are guaranteed. The food is delicious, and you never gain an ounce. A place where the pain and suffering she has endured for the last 8 years will not even be a distant memory.
Sandy loved her family! She married Ronnie Arnold on July 31st, 1993. They would have cele-brated their 25th anniversary together this year. Sandy loved spending time with her brother Steve, sister Bridget, and their families, as well as with Ronnie’s siblings and their families. She was a favorite Aunt to 18 nieces and nephews and Great-Aunt to 27 more. She made a special effort to attend every single event they had. She loved playing games, doing puzzles, hosting showers, and just plain old visiting with each one of them. She treasured every hug, smile, and moment they shared.
Sandy loved her friends! She loved game nights, movies, lunches and dinners out together, Don’t let anyone ever tell you that our sweet Sandy didn’t have a competitive side. Just sit down with her at a Bunko table!
Sandy loved to travel! She was born in Valparaiso, Florida. Her father was in the Air Force, so as a child she lived wherever he was stationed; first in Florida, then California, Japan, and Utah. As an adult, she lived in Germany and Hawaii before settling in Texas. She loved her job at Southwest Airlines as it allowed her to travel. She loved her “Sissy Trips” with Bridget; the two were practically inseparable, and she was always up for a run to the casinos.
Sandy was a member at Compass Church and served there as a Stephen Minister. She was an active member and facilitator of Carcinoid Cancer Texas Survivors. In her efforts to build awareness and educate others about Carcinoid Syndrome, she assisted in arranging conferences for both patients and the medical community. She also helped guide newly diagnosed patients to available resources, treatments, and doctors.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Belle Cox, and her father, Raymond Cox. She is survived by her loving husband Ronnie Arnold, her sister Bridget and husband Terry Loyd, and her brother, Steve Cox and wife Darla, her 18 nieces and nephews, and her 27 great-nieces and nephews.
Sandy would want us all to remember her smile, her laugh, her warmth, her energy, and her love for life, family, and friends. She will forever hold a special place in all our hearts and memories.
A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will be held: 3 o'clock on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
