Scott was born on October 5, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Scott graduated from Canford School in England and received A levels and equivalent of Bachelors from Polytechnic of Central London- now the University of Westminster in Central London and MBA.
He was married to Ellen McGuirk on February 14, 2004.
Scott had a career in accounting and turnaround consulting for many years with his own company, Masterplan. He then did the turnaround that changed his life for South Coast Community Services and led that organization for 15 years as CEO.
He was a member of CBHA, was chair for a Mental Health Committee for the State of California, was President for Brisa del mar for years, and served in many capacities over the years in his church, as a Sunday school teacher, computer teacher, prayer leader, and elder.
Scott had a passion for his family, skiing, golf, photography, tennis, reading, and movies. His favorite thing to do was to laugh and talk with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scott McGuirk, and his Mother, Betty McGuirk.
Scott is survived by Ellen, his wife, and his son, Matthew. Also survived by his siblings, Bruce McGuirk, Greg McGuirk, Dewey McGuirk, Kerry McGuirk, and Kevin McGuirk.
The family will receive guests for visitation which will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, May 29, 2021, from 11:30 am-12:30 pm.
The Funeral Service will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
