Robert Binkert, of North Richland Hills, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019. He will always be remembered as a loving father to all that knew and loved him. He was born on May 21, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Carl Binkert and Kathleen Gantz.
Bob loved his work at IBM and General Electric as a computer programmer, engineer and software analyst. He loved anything and everything about computers. Bob owned several lake properties in Granbury, Texas with his wife Joyce, and loved boating and lake living! He owned several boats through the years, starting with an old wooden Amish boat in the 1960’s, and though he tried, he never was much of a fisherman. Bob loved to try though! Bob was a lifelong Catholic and even attended the Seminary. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Francis Cabrini #9748 in Granbury, Texas and a past Financial Secretary. He also enjoyed woodworking in his retirement.
Bob is survived by his daughter Debbie Conkle and her husband Jim, his son Dan Binkert and his wife Sherry, and his son Dale Binkert. His Grandchildren include Jamie Conkle Valendy and her husband Jeremy, Jennie Conkle Johnson and her husband Captain Shawn Johnson, Robert Conkle and his wife Sarah, Preston Binkert and his wife Brittany, Dylan Binkert and his wife Margaret, Cannon Binkert, Collin Binkert, and Garrett Binkert. He is also survived by 5 Great Grandchildren, Robin and Jessica Conkle, Milla Titus, Riley Johnson and Savannah Johnson, and by his brother-in-law, Dennis Seymour and his wife Jan, and nephews John William, Michael, and Timothy of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father Carl, his mother Kathleen and his wife of 55 years, Joyce Leah Seymour Binkert.
The Funeral Service will be held at 3PM on Thursday the 18th of April at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home at the Mausoleum with a reception to follow in the Bluebonnet Family Lounge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus.
