Mary “Marie” Theresa Baird “Mo Mo” April 9, 1928 - April 28, 2016. On Thursday, April 28, 2016, our family lost its spectacularly beautiful matriarch when Mary Theresa Baird went to join her beloved husband, William Patrick Baird as The Lord called her to heaven. Mary, known to many as "Mo Mo", danced her way through life with laughter in her heart and she died as she had lived, with courage, grace, and dignity. There was never a dull moment with "Mo Mo", a glamorous global trotter, she danced around the world. She never met a stranger and charmed everyone she met. She was an authentic Irish lass who kissed the Blarney Stone many times and had a genuine Irish wit and the “gift of the gab”. "Mo Mo" had a unique spirit that filled every room she entered with joy and laughter. She found humor in every day and brought sparkle to all our lives. She loved sports and at the top of her list were the Dallas Cowboys, the Mavericks, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. A radiant, elegant woman "Mo Mo" loved to travel, read, shop, watch movies, eat Teddy’s ice cream and walk the pier in cherished Dun Laoghaire, Ireland. Her greatest pride and love of course was her family, Mary had three children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Never a “traditional” Mom or grandmother she taught us to dance like no one was watching, travel the world, read, laugh everyday and face life with strength and courage. She emigrated from Ireland with her husband and young family in August of 1962 where they started an adventurous new life. Through their courage, determination, strength and love, they gave their children and grandchildren all the opportunities they hoped they would find in “the promised land.” Mary will be deeply missed by her children Valerie Hubbard (Van), Adrienne Stokes (Rick), and Derek Baird (Connie). Her grandchildren: Shane Stokes (Melissa), Candace Baird, Sheldon Stokes, Jordan Baird, Ashley Hubbard Nelson (Chad), and Heather Baird. Her great grandchildren: Trinity Stokes and Tadhg Stokes. Her nieces: Joyce Dowling (Barry), Yvonne O’Rourke (Dave) Pauline Wilson (Jerry), Terry Madden, Colleen Oliver (Matt), and Pat Homeyer (Mike). Her sisters-in-law: Sheila Mulligan and Gloria Mulligan and all her family and friends. Love shone through in "Mo Mo’s" moment of passing as she departed her earthly life in a love filled room surrounded by her devoted family. We are honored and blessed to have had such a wonderful lady as our Mother and the void her departure leaves will never be filled. "Mo Mo", we love you so much. We want you to stay but now it is time you went on your way. Bill and the gang are waiting above with arms open wide and so full of LOVE. You are home "Mo Mo", enjoy the cake and save us a spot on Heaven’s Dance Floor. Ar Dheis De Go Raibh A Annam. Visitation for Mary will be held at 9:00 am followed by Mass at 10:00 am on Friday, May 6th, at Good Shepard Catholic Community, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, Texas 76034. Flowers can be sent to Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 5725 Colleyville Boulevard, Colleyville, Texas 76034.
