Mrs. Juanita Jo Brown

Nita Jo Brown was born on September 21, 1932, to Luther and Mona Koch in Fort Worth, Texas. Nita Jo married the love of her life, Lewis Brown, on August 21, 1949. They were happily married for almost sixty-nine years. Nita graduated from Paschal High School in 1950, worked for Texas Instruments, Keller Insurance Agency and retired from Bell Helicopter. Nita Jo was a great cook, she also enjoyed sewing, quilting, square dancing, gardening, and camping. Above all, she enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she was affectionately known as Mammie.

Nita Jo was a volunteer and avid supporter of the Keller Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association. She was a member of First Baptist Keller where she was attended for many years.

Nita Jo is survived by daughter, Cathy Ethridge and husband Walter… son, Russ Brown and wife Cindy… grandson, Chris McCandless and wife Mysti… granddaughter, Monica Chattman and husband Patrick… grandson Caleb Ethridge… grandson, Jared Brown and wife Melissa… grandson, Jordan Brown and wife Chelsea… granddaughter Janna Murphy and husband JT… great-grandchildren, Tori, Stormi, Noah, Calvin, Adeline, Liam, Cole, Finn, Elliot… niece Leann Newman and nephew Mark Stevens.

Nita Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Brown… her mother, Mona Koch… her father, Luther Koch… her sister, Cherry Thompson.

The visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 o’clock p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 o’clock a.m. at First Baptist Church in Keller, Texas. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
