Jeffrey Wicks, of Keller, Texas, passed away on August 9, 2019 in Keller, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend, son and colleague to all that knew and loved him. He was born on August 4, 1961 in Orlando, Florida to Norman and Marlene Wicks.
Jeff was an incredible man. He was honorable, kind, and caring. He was very intelligent and had a mind of his own. He was well versed in history, politics, and science. He also had a passion for music. He served in the United States Air Force and then completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Computer Engineering. He was an engineer, who dedicated his professional life to ensuring our freedom as Americans. He developed classified warfare systems for the Department of Defense to defeat terrorism. He loved his wife and his two daughters immensely. For the last 25 years, he dedicated his life to caring for his family. He was an incredible husband and father. In his free time, he taught himself to play guitar, listened to music (especially Led Zeppelin and The Beatles), played computer games, and watched a lot of television. He shared the value of relaxing, while eating chocolate cake and mint ice-cream, a lesson for all of us.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife Maria Victoria Wicks of Keller, Texas, his daughters Elizabeth and Sofia Wicks of Keller, Texas, his father Norman Wicks of Atlanta, Georgia, his mother Marlene Wicks of Clermont, Florida, his sister Julia Gatewood of Clermont, Florida, his brother Adam Wicks of Winter Garden, Florida, and his step-mother Eileen Wicks of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Charles and Doris Wicks and Thomas and Irene Voorhees.
The Memorial Service will be held at 9 o’ clock a.m. on Sunday, August 18th at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Mausoleum.
