It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beloved husband and best friend, Lee Fox. Lee was set free from the effects of Parkinson’s disease on Friday, June 4, 2021 in Plano, Tx. While his precious daughters, Mary, Jenny, Ashley, Lauren and I mourn our loss, we are grateful for God’s mercy in releasing him from the bonds of this dreadful disease.
Lee was born in Chicago, IL to Harold and Janet Fox on July 5, 1947. He attended school in Deerfield, IL where he was active in student government, sports and was a championship swimmer for his high school. During his senior year, he played bass guitar in his band “Sounds in Motion”. The highlight of his childhood however was being a part of the Boy Scout organization. Lee attained the highest rank of Eagle Scout when he was 13 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was thrilled to be able to attend the 50th Jubilee Jamboree in 1960. He vowed that if he lived long enough, he would attend the 100th Anniversary. He made good on that vow by going to Washington, DC in 2010 to celebrate that milestone.
Lee officially became a Texan when he began his college years at North Texas State University. Lee loved college life. He continued swimming for his fraternity in intramural sports. He graduated from NTSU in 1970 with a degree in Business and then began his career in computers with his first job at Honeywell.
Lee and Mary met on a blind date arranged by Mary’s sister, Ann. That was the beginning of a lifelong love affair that spanned over 50 years. Lee and Mary had four darling daughters together and Lee was the greatest cheerleader of all in whatever activity they chose to pursue.
Lee is preceded in death by father and mother, Harold and Janet Fox; brothers in law, Robert Eggers and Don Nash; father and mother in law, Robert and Marguerite Isdale and sister in law, Jane Isdale Kirschbraun.
Lee is survived by wife, Mary Isdale Fox; daughters Mary Fox Gibson, Jenny Fox Miles, Ashley Ann Fox, Lauren Fox Perez; husbands Gary Gibson, Ron Miles, and Dave Perez. Grandchildren Ryan Gibson, Alex Gibson and wife Caitlin Gibson, and Christian Gibson. Sisters Lynn Fox Eggers and Gail Fox Nash. Sister and brother in law, Ann Isdale Burke and Stoney Burke; and a multitude of nieces.
The Fox family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Silvermark in Plano for their devotion to Lee and their loving care. Also, to Nieva of Green Hills Hospice for her watchful care in his final day.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 12:30pm at Bluebonnet Hills, in Colleyville, Tx.
