George W. Larkin, husband, father, uncle, brother, papa and friend to many went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 15, 2020.
George was born in Sadler, Texas 1930. George graduated from Southmayd High School in 1949. After graduating he was inducted into the Army, and stationed in Germany where he was the righthand man of the company Commander.
Returning home from duty in 1953, George enrolled at North Texas State College in Denton, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education with concentration in Social Studies and English. While attending college George met the love of his life Lee and married her in 1956, at the Sadler Baptist Church.
George and his bride moved to Ft. Worth where she taught school and he secured a position with the Texas and Pacific Railroad. George worked at Texas and Pacific almost 10 years before a career change that led to his Management position at Dry Storage. George was Transportation Manager at Gulf Atlantic/ Dry Storage for over 2 decades before his retirement.
Celebrating in his home with family and friends was always his favorite past time. He served as Deacon and Elder at St. Philip Presbyterian Church in Hurst. George loved his church family, and church activities such as, organizing Bible group activities, and a member of Dibs, Mariners, and monthly men’s lunch group. George enjoyed painting but really enjoyed sharing his art through sending cards. George loved to laugh and make others laugh, he loved hard, gave freely and enjoyed life to its fullest. “He was a bold tender spirit.”

Survived by his wife, Lee, 2 children, Rodger (Robin), Lisa (Tim), Sister, Alma, 4 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, 1 nephew and 2 nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Philip Presbyterian Church, Hurst, Texas Missions Program
