She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all of us who knew and loved her so dearly. She was born on October 6, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Marie Grigsby. As a teenager Evie met the love of her life, Tom Howe, and they married in 1942. While Tom, who served as an U.S. Army Staff-Sergeant, went off to fight in the European Theatre, Evie and her friends volunteered to support the war effort. After the war Tom and Evie had four children. Evie was deeply devoted to her family, faith and country. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas where she enjoyed the celebration of Jesus’ birth and special time with her family. Her favorite pastimes were watching old classic movies and listening to her favorite crooners, but hitting the dance floor was her preferred activity.
Evie is survived by her son Daniel Howe of Maricopa, Arizona; her daughter Kathleen Glezen and son-in-law Randy Glezen of Bedford, Texas; her son Douglas Howe and daughter-in-law Rita Howe of Colleyville, Texas; her grandchildren Katie Bradac and husband Noel, Kasey Nemec, Kalee Nemec, Grayson Howe and wife Jule, Tanner Howe and wife Kelsey, Doug Lee, Rick Lee and wife Donna, and Donovaughn Howe; her great-grandchildren Leo and Evelyn Bradac, Shela Caudill; five great-great-grandchildren; and her brothers Don Grigsby and Cliff Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved step-father Clifford G. Mansfield, her husband Thomas Patrick Howe, her daughter Linda Marie Glezen, her great-grandson Dustin Lee, her sister Dorothy Smith and brother Bob Grigsby.
