He grew up on the family’s 45-acre farm with no electricity or plumbing where they farmed 40 of the acres with only a mule and a one bottom plow. At 17, just prior to the end of WWII, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was shipped to the South Pacific where he was designated a landing craft driver but saw no action until he spent a year in Korea during that conflict.
Ed began his civilian career as a bread delivery man. Later, he entered the banking industry where he had been a vice president for the Bank of Texas. Ed later joined Associates Financial before becoming self-employed in the same industry.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley( Gasper) Huff, and his son, Joseph Daniel Huff. He is survived by his two daughters, Mitzi Gale( Huff) McDonald of Beeville, and Penny Dell (Huff) Forrest of Round Rock; twin sister, Norma Nell Denman of Austin; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter, and his faithful dog, Bear. Ed will be missed by his many friends and his neighbors in his Fox Glenn neighborhood.
