Cynthia Yvonne Redic was born December 21, 1973 in Stanton, Texas to Clarence Edward and Yvonne Carol Redic. She grew up in Midland, Texas where she attended and graduated from Midland High School in 1992. Cynthia was active in sports including Volleyball, Basketball, Track/Field in shot-put, even qualifying for State in shot-put to represent her high school.
After graduating from high school, Cynthia attended Midland College before moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to attend the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton. She graduated from UNT in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Business Economics and was a member of Phi Chi Theta, a Co-Educational National Professional Business Fraternity.
Cynthia became employed with Optimum Re Insurance in Dallas in 1999 where she worked and celebrated 20 years of service. She received “Employee of the Quarter” awards on multiple occasions and earned her LOMA certification as an Associate, Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC) and Fellow, Life and Health Claims (FLHC) designation.
Cynthia's name means "reflector of light" and Yvonne means "courageous heart/bravery". These descriptions are true to who she was in life. Cynthia was a beautiful and genuine gem reflecting the light of God and saw the best in people. She had a servant’s heart and was always ready and willing to help and serve others with a big smile. Once she got into servant-mode she was focused and on a mission. Although she endured battles in life, she maintained a courageous heart and chose to worship and serve even during the storms.
Cynthia was a member of Spirit Life Church International where she served faithfully in various ministries. She was always setting the bar high when it came to serving in the House of God. To mention a few areas, Cynthia was captain of the usher department, a teacher in the children’s ministry department and a champion leader at vacation bible school. Cynthia’s love for children extended to the community where she served several seasons as a volunteer at the Grapevine Community Outreach After-School program.
Cynthia loved music and praising God in dance. She was a team member and co-leader of the Purposeful Praise Team and the Drama Ministry, Life Speaks. Cynthia was a woman of faith, loving the LORD in all she put her hands to do, and loved studying and digging deep into the Word of God.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Redic; and grandparents, Tommy and Lou Willie Dedrick and Clarence and Ferroll Redic. She is survived and will forever be remembered by her mother, Yvonne Redic of Frisco, Texas; brother, Edward (Tonya) Redic of Midland, Texas; sister, Christi Redic of Irving, Texas; nieces Gabrielle (Antonio) Paulo of Seagoville, Texas; Courtney Redic of Midland, Texas; Ryan Redic of Midland, Texas; and nephew, Tyler Tatum of Midland, Texas.
