Walter Walski was the oldest of three boys, born to Rose and Walter Joseph Walski in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His parents emigrated from Poland and he was deeply proud of his Polish heritage. He had a love of the wild outdoors from his childhood until the day he died.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 7th at 6:00 pm with visitation starting starting at 5:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.
Walt graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1960 in Grand Rapids, MI. He married Carole Diggins in Grand Rapids, MI in 1970. In 1974 they relocated to St. Croix Falls, WI. Their time in Michigan and Wisconsin was filled with family, close friends, raising their children, and boating on beautiful rivers and the Great Lakes. Walt was an avid hunter and fisherman through out his life. In 1988 the Walskis moved to College Station, TX; with fishing poles in tow. Walt explored the lakes and river of Texas as a bonus to his career as a salesman.
Walt is survived by his much-loved wife, Carole; his adored children, Geoff, Tim, Donnie, Trudie, Cheryl, Julie Jo; thirteen cherished grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Sandy, Bruce and Anna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Norma Diggins; numerous nieces and nephews; and lakes and rivers full of relieved fish. Walt’s signature mischief, charm, and adventure will be sorely missed.
