Sandra was a native of Center, Texas where she was a brilliant and beautiful child. In her high school years she was in the band and also performed as a twirler and would have been valedictorian of her class were it not for the fact she graduated in 3 years instead of 4. Sandra and her husband, Jerry Bradshaw, were high school sweethearts. They began dating when Sandra was 14 and Jerry was 16. Separated by College, with Jerry at Texas A&M and Sandra at the University of Texas, Sandra left college to marry Jerry at the age of 18. The two of them had a long and happy marriage. Sandra was a stay-at-home mother and supported Jerry through 30 moves to advance his career. They were blessed with two children and would have been married 54 years in November. Sandra loved to travel, and she and Jerry traveled to almost every country in Europe, visited Asia, Africa, and South America. Sandra loved going on cruises and they enjoyed many, many cruises together, including numerous Caribbean plus Alaskan, Baltic, Panama Canal, Nile River, across the Atlantic and Mediterranean cruises. She was also wonderful cook and passed along her culinary skills to her daughter. Sandra was a founding and charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, volunteering for A&M United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Barnette Sanders and Irene Creech Sanders, Jerry’s parents, Marvin and Beatrice Bradshaw, half-brother Leon Sanders, and son Michael Allen Bradshaw. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Bradshaw; daughter, Carol Roach and husband Art Roach of College Station; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Baker and wife Jessie Baker, Katherine Osburn, Benjamin Bradshaw, Alexis Roach, and Alyssa Roach; and great grandson, Joshua (Duke) Baker, Jr. all of College Station; half-sister, Hazel Andre of New Iberia, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Jean Bradshaw of New London, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandra was a direct descendant of her great-great grandfather, John Sanders, who was a hero of the Battle of San Jacinto.
The family wishes to thank the angels-of-mercy of Hospice Brazos Valley, the wonderful doctors, staff, and nurses at St. Joseph Hospital and St. Joseph ER in south College Station. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Christian Collage Sunday School class at Christ United Methodist Church.
