Mr. James Benefield, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 19, 2022.
James was born June 23, 1933 in Wrens, Georgia to Whit Benefield and Lizzie Mae Freeman.
James accepted Christ in 1986 at Friendship Baptist Church in College Park, Georgia, and was a faithful member and servant.
James worked at John F. Kennedy International Airport in 1969-1983 until he transferred to Hartsville-Jackson Atlanta International Airport from 1983-1996.
James worked as a fuel man until he worked his way up to management at Hartsville-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
James joined heaven with his parents, two brothers, and both of his wives; Eloise Benefield and Annie Dean Benefield.
James is survived by a daughter, Minister Dr. Cheryl Benefield of Douglasville, Georgia, a son David Benefield of Atlanta, Georgia, a son Sebastian Moore Benefield of Syracuse, New York, a Grandson Darryl Jackson of Douglasville, Georgia, a Granddaughter Brittney Benefield of Douglasville, Georgia, two Grandsons Jamel Moore of Asburn, Virginia, Jarel Moore of Brooklyn, New York. Fourteen Great-Grandchildren between New York , Virginia and Georgia,
James leaves behind his girlfriend, Wilete Stewart and a host of relatives and friends.
A visitation service for Mr. James Benefield will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 5755 Mallory Road, Atlanta, GA 30349. Funeral services for Mr. Benefield will follow the visitation, beginning at 1:00 PM.
