Debra Jean Hill was called home to her eternal resting place on February 20, 2023. God softly whispered in her ear and said, “Well done, my daughter, now come and rest from your labor”. Debra Jean Hill was born April 24, 1957, in Atlanta Georgia to George and Evelyn Hill. She was united in marriage to her former spouse, Brown Hardnett Jr. To this union they were blessed with one daughter. She was educated in the Atlanta Public Schools system and attended D. M. Therrell High School. Post-secondary education included college course work at Devry and graduating from the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA) program. Her employment joy came from her time as a Production Rigger. She was a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 834 and IATSE Local 927 Atlanta Stage Technicians. Rigging provided her an opportunity to work at various concerts, theatrical shows, exhibitions, and conventions. She expressed much joy in her work with both organizations and often stated that work is what kept her going. She was preceded in death by her devoted mother Evelyn G. Hill and her father George H. Hill. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Cherylnita (Shannon) Cone. Her siblings; two sisters Ms. Frankie Howard and Ms. Joeen Hill of Atlanta, GA. Two brothers George E. Hill (Sonny) of Shelbyville, TN and Harold Tony Hill of Atlanta, GA. A host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Debra will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, GA 30349.
