Ms. Betty Lou (Carl) Jackson was born on August 26, 1961, in Elkton, Maryland to the late Carl Jackson Sr., and Elizabeth Hessey. She grew up in Wilmington, DE where she met and married the love of her life, Randolph Elias, who preceded her in death. To this union, two daughters were born.
Betty graduated from P S Dupont High School and continued her education eventually becoming a Nursing Assistant. She later joined the army and completed 2 terms of enlistment before relocating to Georgia.
In 2010, Betty reunited with her army buddy/sister, Phyllis Avila and relocated to Union City, GA. She gained another sister-in-love, Patricia Florence, and the 3 became known as the “Angels.” Together they spread their love abroad and their slogan became, “Love You… Always Forever and a Day.”
Ms. Betty, affectionately known as “MomMom” grew closer to Christ upon moving to Georgia and joined New Mount Carmel Apostolic in Sharpsburg, GA under the leadership of Bishop Phillip Lott where she was baptized and became stronger in her faith. She was a faithful, loyal, and dedicated member and served as the youth leader until her transition. Betty was firm but fair and believed in tough love. She was passionate about helping her loved ones and was truly a mother to all. Betty was always blessing and keeping people on track.
She was preceded in death by Mother Carrie Lott and Bonus daughter Kalika Avila, whom she cared for until their transition.
Ms. Betty gained her wings on May 3, 2023, at 12:43 pm at her home in Conyers, GA. She was surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
She leaves to celebrate her life: two daughters, Nicola Jackson (grands - Cadence and Cairo) and Laurenzita Jackson (grands -Quran, Farid, and Lyrik), both of Morrow, Ga. Goddaughters: Rosa Puller of Maryland, Shamika May (Travis) of North Carolina, and Jackie Fields of Warner Robbins, GA., Ebony Hackett of Wilmington, Delaware. Brothers: Dawain Ford of Camden, NJ and Donald Ford of Newark, DE. Nephew Jonathan Jackson of Wilmington, DE. Bonus Daughters: Morissha (Felton) Lingo of Jonesboro, GA, Tanisha (Sam) Davis of Gadsden, AL, Felecia (Craig) Frayall of Stonecrest, GA. Bonus sons: Sanchez (Nikki) Farmer Temecula, CA, Tarves (Alicia) Florence of Cedartown, GA, Christopher Lott, Jonesboro, GA, Heriberto (Courtney) Avila of Albertville, AL. Pop: Isaiah Lott of Gadsden, AL. and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces, nephews, and divinely connected loved ones.
