Arthur was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1935, to Arthur Daniel and Glenmon Mable Bennett Robinson. On October 5, 1957 he was married to the former Verdie “Pearl” McIntosh. They attended Baptist churches. Arthur was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Union, Local 18, Dayton, where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was mechanically minded and could fix anything. Arthur was self-sufficient on his small farm to feed his family with a huge garden and variety of livestock. In his leisure time, he enjoyed old western movies, collecting guns and attending to his retired race horse. Arthur was always eager to discuss his passion for politics and current events.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 61 years; his children: Pamela Jean Robinson of Middletown, Ohio; Larry Duane Robinson of College Corner, Arthur Daniel Robinson, Steven Wesley Robinson, both of Bath; Matthew Glenn Robinson and his wife, Debbie of Cincinnati, Ohio; Mary Margaret Robinson Ruiz and her husband, Jeff of Orlando, Florida; his brother: Daniel Bruce Robinson and his wife, Heather of St. Petersburg, Florida, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by three sisters: Marguerite Glenna Robinson, Mary Katherine Francis, Gladys Robinson; and his brother: Arthur Daniel Robinson, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner Ohio, with Pastor Bruce Turner officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery.
