William J.Partridge age,86 was born May 19, 1927 in Meriden Ct. He passed away April 1, 2014 at Courtenay Springs in Merritt Island. He served in the Merchant Marines, US Army, and US Coast Guard. He was a Life time member of the Disabled Veterans.and also a member of DAV and the American Legion.
He worked for New Departure, then the city of Meriden, where he retired to Florida in 1979. His Nick Name was Wild Willie - as a young adult he rode rodeo at the Madison Square Garden where he held the title for all around cowboy 3 years in a row. He played the upright bass in a band called the Ozark Moutain Boy's. They appeared on the TV Follies and the Hee Haw Show. He was a friend of Gene Autry and other celebrities. He loved motor cycle riding,boating,fishing, camping, clamming, music , watching his grand kids grow up and great grand kids. He played Santa Claus at the American Legion in South Meriden.
He was loved as a Husband, Father, Brother, Grandpa and Father in Law. He is survived by his wife Constance Partridge of 60 years, his children- Diane Valiquette of CT, Brenda Hebert of VT, Marie Cruz of Edgewater, William C Partridge of Titusville, Theresa Tacina of NH, Nicholas Partridge of Mims. His Grandchildren Tammy, Lisa, Amanda, Misty, Steaven, , Cole, Dwayne, Nicole, Brenton,, Mary, Holliann, Courtney, Jerry, Sam, Michael. He was predeceased by his loving grandson Salvatore J Cruz. Great Grand Children Josh, Jacob, Zachary, Haleigh, Mackenzie, Kalie, Drake, Dax, Brendon, Paul, Ethan, Sophia, Draven, Pandora, Lynus, Olivia, Aston, Aylssa, Sean. Calling hours will be held Sunday April 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM followed by service at 4 PM.
