Lucille’s lifelong passion has always been teaching children. She would often remind us that she started teaching in 1957. First in Pennsylvania, then Maryland, and finally Florida, where she retired twice! She taught children from the first grade all the way through junior high. Her life was always busy with her students and her own children as well. Lucille also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV and riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle. She loved working in the yard and taking on any do-it-yourself project she could dream up.
Lucille is predeceased by her parents Paul and Melinda Blanchard, her loving husband Gerald Nichols, brother Norman Blanchard, sister Claire Day, brother Paul Blanchard, brother Roger Blanchard and brother George Blanchard. She is survived by her brother and sister, Arthur Blanchard and Violette Hobbs. Lucille was a loving and dear mother to her daughter, Michelle Jones; son John Nichols (Elena); daughter Paula Darby (Steve) and her grandchildren, Christopher Nichols (Jessica) Allison Jones-Rotondo (Nick), Crystal Ellison, Kyle Nichols (Alexa), Jeremy Ellison (Jennifer), and Shana Langston (Logan). She was also a great grandmother to Finn, AvaReign, Abigail, and Reagan.
