Clarence Matthew Gleason Jr. died on Nov. 16, 2019 at the age of 92. Clarence was born in Princeton, W.VA July 13,1927. He moved to Norfolk, VA at age 7 and at the age of 14 joined the Merchant Marines.
In 1946 at the age of 18 he enlisted in the army. During his station in Germany he met and married his sweetheart, Marie Blass from Crailsheim, Germany and they were married for 63 years until she died on Feb. 23, 2018. Clarence retired from the army as a Sargent First Class on Dec.31,1966. Clarence then moved to Rockledge, FL and worked for Bendix Corporation at Kennedy Space Center as a field engineer, tracking satellites until retirement in 1995. Clarence was a residence of Rockledge for 52 years.
Clarence is survived by his children, Joann Cristensen from Malabar, FL, Anneliese Krenz from Rockledge, FL, and Johnny Gleason from Nampa, ID. Clarence has 7 grandchildren, Melody Krenz Heaberlin, Jesse Krenz, Daniel Krenz, David Krenz, Aaron Gleason, Jordan Gleason, and Dylan Gleason. He has 11 great grandchildren.
Clarence and Marie were long time members of Cocoa First Assembly of God, Cocoa, FL Clarence loved going on mission trips and was very open about his faith in Jesus Christ his Lord.
