Charles Ashley Bielling, 60, of Titusville, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on December 17, 2024. Born on November 14, 1964, in Orlando, Florida, Charlie was the sixth of Cynthia and Robert Bielling’s eight children. Growing up in Catholic faith and community, he learned and embodied “love thy neighbor,” never passing up an opportunity to help someone. Known as both “Charlie” and “Chuck,” he fondly recalled many memories with his large and loving family and the many friends made along the way. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Patti) Kienzle, at the age of 19, and they had two daughters, Amanda Bielling and Kristin Bielling. Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 13 years, including a stateside tour during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and a deployment to Bosnia and Herzegovina for Operation Joint Endeavor. His assignments led the family on many adventures in New Mexico, Florida, Georgia, Germany, Kentucky with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and Virginia. After leaving the military, he continued service as a federal employee for 10 years in San Antonio, Texas, working as a security supervisor at Brooke Army Medical Center before returning to Titusville to live closer to family. Charlie retired from the Transportation Security Administration in April 2023. In his final years, he put up a tough fight against cancer, sharing love, laughter, and a positive spirit with friends and family in the face of adversity. He enjoyed spending time with family, making his grandson laugh, and playing a wide range of games, always valuing togetherness and fun over beating the competition. Charlie will forever be remembered for his easy-going nature, kind heart, and charming sense of humor.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Patti; daughter Amanda and daughter-in-law Heather; daughter Kristin, son-in-law David Gustavsen, and grandson Nathan; mother Cynthia; siblings Debbie, Karen Showell (husband Mike and three children), Barb Puhak (husband John and three children), Robert Jr. (wife Pam and three children), Pat (wife Renee and four children), Joe, and Rich (wife Rossana). He rests in eternal peace with father Robert and niece April Duarte, daughter of Pat and Renee.
Charlie will be remembered at a memorial service at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home (1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL, 32953) starting at 1 p.m. on January 4, 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Orlando Health Cancer Institute and St. Francis Reflections.
