down home in Alabama.
Ann was born March 19, 1932 on the family farm in Montevallo, Ala. She worked at Alabama Power after high school, taught dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio where she met her future husband of 53 years, the late Charlie Griffin. He could and would do everything she wished for. They dearly loved each other every minute of their time together and are now reunited in heaven.
They moved to Cocoa, Florida in 1957 as Charlie worked for RCA in the space program and built their first home at 1204 Westview Dr. There they welcomed two sons, Greg and the late Keith Griffin.
Charlie’s work took them to the Bahamas, Trinidad, Colorado Springs, Anchorage before retiring in Cocoa to be near their much loved granddaughters, and later to Suntree.
Ann and Charlie were avid bowlers, Alabama Crimson Tide football fans and loved to go to Biloxi with Fulton, Geri, Betty and other friends to try their luck. Their son Greg remembers many hours spent in the childcare section of Cocoa Bowl-O-Rama as they bowled with Dick and Doris Mathiesen in their weekly bowling leagues. Ann loved being secretary for many bowling leagues in Anchorage, Space Bowl Rockledge, and Shore Lanes Merritt Island which led to many lifelong friendships. She collected thousands of sea shells beginning with their move to Freeport, GBI in 1966 and enjoyed making shell mirrors, shadowboxes and decorative jars of shells.
