She was born on November 8th, 1937 in Buchanan, Tennessee to Goebel and Lodema Jackson and lived 86 years, 4 months and 24 days. Mrs. Sheehan was a graduate of E.W. Grove High School (Paris, Tennessee) in 1956 and then attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, focusing on music. She married Jay Sheehan in Paris, Tennessee in 1959. Wanda was a devoted wife and mother and her career centered around being a travel agent in Lake Jackson. She was an avid music lover while playing piano and singing in the choir at First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson and in her retirement community. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her closest friends, working outside in the yard, taking walks and working her crossword puzzles on a daily basis. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Jackson since 1970. Avid travelers, Wanda and her late husband Jay saw much of the world. Otherwise, her retirement years were spent with her grandchildren playing board games and attending their athletic events. Mrs. Sheehan is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and brothers. Missing her presence are sons, Greg Sheehan and wife Sheri Sheehan of Pearland, Mike Sheehan of Lake Jackson, along with their grandchildren, Savanna Sheehan and Cole Sheehan. Wanda was well-loved by friends, too, many of whom were fellow members of First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday April 9th, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas.
