Viola Mae Neal, of Lake Jackson, was born April 14, 1935 in Holman, Texas to Peter and Louis Huepers and died Friday, October 29, 2010 in Lake Jackson at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 15 days. She moved to Lake Jackson and was working at Lake Drug when she met Ewing Floyd Neal. They were married on January 25, 1958 in Weimer, Texas. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage. She was very active in her church and was president of the “SAINTS” and she and her husband helped with the church newsletter for many years. She was happiest when spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was also everybody’s favorite aunt! She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; 9 sisters and a son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Vanessa Neal, who died together in 1983. She is survived by her husband, Ewing Floyd Neal of Lake Jackson; son, Rory Neal and his wife, Tami of Lake Jackson; daughter, Rita Yoakum of New Caney, Texas; sister, Pauline Lindermann of Weimer, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Tammy, Tina, Tanya and Tabitha Yoakum & Cortney Neal; 2 great grandchildren, Marcos Granados & Jayden Zelaya; her best friend of 45 years, Glenda Tyler and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday evening, November 1, 2010, from 5-7 PM at the Restwood Funeral Home in Clute. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 300 Willow Drive, Lake Jackson with Reverend Wesley Welburn officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at the Restwood Memorial Park with Darrel Lux, Gary Lux, Dennis Petrash, Douglas Syamkem, Logan Neal and Richard Perkins serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Tyler, David Syamkem, Brad Boston, Jessie Cabrera and Thomas Huepers.
