Tonia was born to Tommy and Judy Neal on February 20, 1974 in Bakersfield, California. Tonia married DyAnn Herrera in Fresno, California on Columbus Day, October 13, 2008.
Tonia worked for 14 years in the financial services industry with jobs ranging from teller through branch management beginning with Wells Fargo in Bakersfield, California and culminating her career locally with TDECU. Prior to her banking career Tonia had been employed at different times as a regional bus driver, steakhouse chef, and in high school she was employed by the local recreation and park district working as a skating rink supervisor, park supervisor and a junior sports coach.
Tonia grew up in Taft, California and graduated from Taft Union High School. She also attended Taft College and Federico Beauty College. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, as well as serving the community. Tonia proudly volunteered for community events including the Brazoria County Fair auction, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and Chamber of Commerce events in Texas City where she was responsible for opening the TDECU branch.
She enjoyed running and completed several 5K’s. She had a passion for music, baking, and laughter. Most of all, Tonia will be remembered for being full of love and adventure.
Tonia is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Neal.
Tonia is survived by her wife of 13 years, DyAnn Herrera, who was the love of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Judy Neal; brother, Brandon Neal; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 West Plantation Drive, Clute, Texas
