Ronald Charles Boone

Ron was born in Newton Hamilton, Pennsylvania on September 27, 1939. He worked many jobs and held many titles, but those from family, husband, Dad, Pop, Grandpa, brother, Uncle, were the most important. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone. He had a big heart, big smile and was full of quick wit that kept everyone laughing.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are his loving wife of 47 years, Jennie Boone, and countless other loving family and friends.

Ron could often be found at a ball field supporting grandkids or great-grandkids, watching Astros baseball, Alabama or Penn State football.

Retiring and moving to Richwood Texas in 2007, to be close to family and his 2 year old grandson, his “Best Buddy”, Ron soon learned there was a shortage of school bus drivers. Four weeks after retiring from an executive position, Ron was driving a school bus for BISD. On many occasions, on his way home, Ron would drop off a jacket left on the bus because it was going to be cold in the morning; or drop off school books/bags because he knew homework was due in the morning. After retiring from BISD, it always made Ron’s day when one of “his” kids or a parent would run up for a hug in the mall or anywhere they saw him. Known as “Mr. Ron” for 10 years, he loved all “his” kids and they loved him back.

We are honoring his wishes and there will be no memorial service at this time. While he never knew a stranger and loved to talk to people and make them laugh, he was never one for being the center of attention. If you have special stories or memories to share, the family would love to hear from you.
