Janie Perez Salinas

Janie Perez Salinas, resident of Lake Jackson since the late 80’s, was called by our Lord and Savior on October 16th, 2023, at the age of 81. She was a faithful wife, mother, and a generous woman who loved and helped her family with her time, talent, and treasure.

Janie was born January 14th, 1942, in Monterrey, Mexico and was married to Eloy Salinas Jr. June 27th, 1964 in Freeport, TX. They were married for 26+ years before he passed away. Thereafter, she went to Beauty College and became a hair stylist. Janie proudly opened La Belle Hair Salon in Clute and gave her full perfectionist attention to all her customers. She closed the salon after many years and enjoyed being the best Grandma to her grandchildren. Janie attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Adoration Chapel where she loved adoring Christ in the Eucharist and praying the rosary for her family and friends. Janie sheltered the needy, feed the hungry, donated clothing, gave spiritual support to her family, and lived a life in Christ Jesus that is a wonderful and moral role model for her children, grandchildren, family and to all who had the blessing of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her “parents, Santiago and Teresa Perez”; “husband, Eloy Salinas Jr.”; “son, Andrew Salinas”; “grandson, David Adam Ruiz”; and “brothers, Pete and Paul Perez”.

She is survived by her “children, Angela (Nelson) Ward, Sandra Salinas, Eloy (Michelle) Salinas”; “grandsons, Patrick Batts, Benjamin Toombs, Mark Ruiz, Andrew Jacob, Justin, Aaron, and Jordan Salinas“; “brothers, Benny, Jimmy, Joe, Temo Perez” and “sisters, Mary Garza and Alicia Rodriguez”.

The Visitation and Vigil will be held on October 22nd, 2023 at Restwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1038 W Plantation Dr, Clute, TX 77531, from 3:00 -6:00 pm with the Vigil at 5:00pm.

The Funeral Mass will be held on October 23rd, 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 100 Oak Dr S, Lake Jackson, TX 77566, at 10:00am.
