Earl was born on September 24, 1930 in New Orleans, LA. Earl was the oldest and last living of five children born to Earl and Helen Roth. Earl married Shirley Marie Snider in New Orleans on Dec. 17, 1958.
Earl liked fancy cars, traveling the country, spending time with his family, freely giving strangers a smile and talking to people about God. Earl was especially proud of his service in the US Army where he served in Augsburg and Nurnberg Germany during the Korean War. Earl worked his entire career for Western Union, delivering telegrams in the early days to managing the communications department later on. He retired after a long career from Western Union and moved to Sargent with his wife Shirley. Earl lived on Caney Creek for over 30 years and enjoyed the serenity, flowing waters and the vast number of friends. He and Shirley loved serving, and felt it was his calling to help others. For many years he and his wife Shirley helped with the administrative duties for Open Door Enterprises, embracing Donald and Sarah Reed as close family.
He was preceded in death by Shirley Marie, his loving wife of 54 years. Survived by his children Darryl Keith of Eugene, OR. Mario Allen (Tina) off Boerne, TX. and Harvey Joe (Karen) of Katy, TX. Five grand children and 12 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews, special to him was his nephew Raymond (Rocky) Roth.
The visitation will be held at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, TX on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The celebration of life service will begin immediately after the visitation.
