Earl Paul Erikson Jr., 77, of Lake Jackson, TX peacefully passed away on July 29, 2023. Earl was born July 2, 1946 in Victoria, TX. He was the son of Earl Paul Erikson Sr. and Geraldine Erikson. While attending St. Joseph High School, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Shiller Erikson, and graduated in 1964. Earl continued his education at Victoria College.
Earl and Carolyn were married February 19, 1966 and shortly after their marriage, Earl left for the Air Force, where he served our country for 4 years. He returned from the service in January of 1970, where he started his career of 31 years as an engineer with Southwestern Bell. He retired in 2001 and spent the rest of his days at the family ranch, chasing grandkids with their activities, hunting and doing taxidermy.
Earl is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Erikson, daughter Melinda Erikson (Boyett), son Earl Paul Erikson III (wife Paulette), and daughter Melissa Kesler (husband Ryan). Seven grandkids: Cameron, Carson, and Carlee Boyett, Cody and Caitlin Erikson, and Mason and Mallory Kesler and numerous sister and brother in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Earl Jr is preceded in death by his father Earl Sr., mother Geraldine, brother Harry Erikson, and grandmother Maggie Zarbock.
Services will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, TX on August 4, 2023. Rosary will be at 9 am with the service to follow at 10am.
