Duane Cumbie of Lake Jackson, TX was born January 1, 1938 in California to Cora Mae Cumbie and Gordon Cumbie and died August 16, 2013 in Houston, TX at the age of 75.
He was a retired pipefitter from Local 211 and in his retirement he enjoyed hanging out at the kolache shop in the mornings and he really enjoyed taking naps in the afternoon. Duane referred to Loretta’s flowers as “lawn mower bait”. He will be missed by Ariel, his “little angel” and Doc, they were his four legged children who shared his bed.
He is preceded in death by his father Gordon Cumbie, a twin brother, Dwight Cumbie, and a sister Linda Cumbie.
He is survived by the love of his life, Loretta Heitman, a son, Mitch Cumbie, a step-daughter, Donna Smith and his mother, Cora Mae Cumbie.
