Family of David, 

I am so very sorry for the loss you are suffering.  I work at BC and had many encounters with David.  He was such a joyful, happy, and funny soul.  We would occasionally invite him to our potlucks on the second floor of the Admin wing cause we truly enjoyed listening to him share stories.  He kept us in stitches.  I will fondly remember David and will miss him wandering the halls of BC getting in some steps.

Wishing you comfort, peace. and strength as you go through maneuvering life without him.

Danny and I were so saddened to hear of David's passing. Even tho we only had the privilege of knowing David a few years, we always enjoyed visiting with him. He was such a nice and personable man. It was evident how much he cared for his family. We extend our heartfelt  sympathy  to Martha, Blaine, all family and friends during this difficult time.  

My prayers and thoughts are with you, Martha and Blaine.   May God give you peace and fill your hearts with love during this difficult time.   
 

As a Manager with McLemore, I had the pleasure of meeting with David on many occasions.
David was always spot on and supportive of our goals.

David was on my hiring committee and I have worked closely with him nearly every day since I have started work at the college. He always listened and has done many things to make the college a better place. He was also a very good friend to me. I will miss David very much and I pray for Martha, Blaine, and all his family and friends as they go through the grieving process. 

I've only been with BC for a couple of years, so I didn't have a great deal of interactions with David. This is a regret. The time that I did spend with him were memorable. He had a unique sense of humor, which I totally got and appreciated. In some respects, he was very much what I expected of a "finance guy", but there was a side to David that broke that mold and was personable, approachable, and a giving soul who had a true passion to teaching. I recall him sitting around the breakfast table, at the annual Board retreats, sharing the different instructional approaches he used to capture the attention of his students and help them grasp what could be pretty complex subject matter. Like so many of my colleagues, I would have loved to spend more time getting to know him and perhaps share with him my passion for finance and economics. He made a difference and will be missed. 

It is with pure sadness and heartbreak that I learned of David Marshall's passing. Though we didn't work directly on a daily basis, we had some discussions that I will always cherish. He was the ultimate professional, while still letting those working with him know that he had their interest at heart and was willing to go the extra mile for them if that was needed. When our paths crossed, we talked about all things from the reason for my visit to what the latest things were going on with him. It was easy to tell how much he loved his family and especially his son and wife, whom it was clear he adored. David left an indelible mark at Brazosport College and with me.

David was so much fun to be around. His dry humor, his friendly manner, and his sincerity are things I will remember most about him.

I said a prayer for him and lit a candle for him and all of you

David was my colleague at Brazosport College. We worked together to try to make the IT department at the college the best it could be. I appreciated his support of me and my department. I learned a lot from him about the finances of the college. He was always sharing his ideas and thoughts with me about the challenges of managing the finances of such a large and diverse organization. I always had great confidence that the college would always be in good financial condition with him leading the way. David and I had many long talks about a variety of projects and initiatives. My last conversation with him was one of those types of talks where we discussed ideas and plans so that is how I will remember him best. His loss comes as a great shock to me but I plan to say thank you to him when I see him again some day. 

My deepest sympathies go out to the Marshall family for their loss. David was a wonderful asset to Brazosport College and he will be dearly missed. Praying for comfort and strength during this difficult time. 

David was a great boss and with his jocularity made the monthly meeting pass quickly, no emails needed.
He cared and helped his students as employees alike.  His shoes will be hard to fill.

I had the pleasure of working with David.  He was kind, and had a wonderful sense of humor. I'd like to extend my condolences to his family.

In addition to his challenging work managing the finances of Brazosport College, David was a wonderful mentor to our students.  

He taught classes in Financial Accounting and Economics as an adjunct instructor and also served as an ACE It Coach helping to advise, encourage and guide students new to Brazosport College.  

I know he had many, many friends among the faculty and staff here at Brazosport and I know he will be deeply missed.

My prayers are with David's family .  David was always a gentleman and cared deeply about doing the right thing. He did a great job handling Brazosport College's finances and he will be greatly missed.
