Amy Lynn Vasquez Williams

Amy was raised by her grandparents and grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas on Huisache street. She spent her childhood outside riding bikes and getting into mischief with her uncle Steve who was like a brother to her. She met her high school sweetheart Royce Williams in 1980 and they later married in 1986. Amy and Royce had their first daughter Erica in 1988 and then their second daughter Madison in 1992. Her daughters were her greatest joy and accomplishment in life, and she devoted all of her energy and love to making memories with them. Amy loved the outdoors including fishing, playing at Surfside beach with her girls, family camping trips by the river, walking nature trails, or just working in the front yard. Amy’s love for music was also a large part of her life: she spent most of her young adulthood seeing her favorite rock ‘n’ roll bands live in concert and her home was rarely quiet without music on. Amy had a special way of connecting with and understanding children. She greatly enjoyed being a teacher for HOPE Preschool, but her heart was most captivated by her only granddaughter Isabelle born in 2017.

Amy was beautiful, creative, and funny. She was a selfless person and endlessly supported her family and friends in whatever ways she could. To befriend her was to feel the warmth of her compassion and to be accepted as you were.
