Bob entered the world on September 10, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, with a loving heart and a generous soul. He was born to the marriage of Mary Katherine & Eugene Lafayette Dupree. He and his family moved around quite often before settling in Fresno in 1955. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1963 and, shortly thereafter, followed in his father’s footsteps and joined Plumbers & Pipefitters UA Local 246.
He was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam for 2 years before being honorably discharged. He met is soul mate Brenda while working in Bakersfield and married her soon after. They made their home in Fresno while raising their three children. He was a faithful member of UA Local 246 for 49 years, serving as their Business Agent toward the end of his career. His love for the union, golf and fishing was only out done by the love for his wife, children and two grandsons.
He died on May 17, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene and is survived by his mother Katherine; loving wife Brenda; siblings Mike & Paulette Dupree, Dave & Debbie Dupree, and Kent & Debbie Thomas; children Rick & Sandra Dupree, Clif & Kristi MacDonald, and Robert Dupree; grandsons Tyler & Ethan Dupree; his many nephews and nieces; and best friend Bob Byrd.
There will be a viewing at Boice Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 2 pm - 7 pm. A graveside service will be held at Clovis Cemetery on May 24, 2012, at 11 am, with a celebration of life to follow at Woodward Park Church of Christ.
