Josiah was baptized into Christ as an early teen, and attended Christian schools where he learned to grow his faith in Christ. He was a league triple jump champion at Fresno Christian High School for four years and went on to develop his passion for Track & Field at Fresno Pacific University, where he received the title of All-American in the triple jump event. Josiah went on to serve as an honest and virtuous Police Officer for the Clovis Police Department, where he continued to show physical excellence and prowess, outrunning any criminal.
Josiah was a man of many passions and always could be found working on a new project or developing a newfound skill. He enjoyed mechanics, woodworking, video games, and exercise. He was talented at teaching himself new hobbies and pastimes such as unicycling, ukulele, harmonica, spearfishing, knitting, welding, and making homemade ice cream. He loved being in nature and retreating to the mountains for backpacking, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Josiah was a devoted husband and a loving father. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Alyssa Ford, and his daughters Presley and Penelope Ford. He is also survived by his parents, Robert and Anita Ford, and his sisters, Aliza Ford and Janae Swanson. Josiah’s greatest joy was his family and he loved them with an unwavering love. Of all of his accolades, his most prized accomplishment was being a father to his precious girls.
Josiah leaves behind a legacy of faith in Christ, family, and friendship. His courage, strength, and motivation to defy limits will continue to leave a remarkable impact and inspire others.
