George was born July 13, 1939 in Madera, California to Beulah Flora (Stevens) Johnson and Otis William Johnson.
He was the youngest of (3) children. And is proceeded in death by his parents and brother, Otis Thomas Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Precious Loretta Johnson, his sister Wanda Joy Clark, his daughter, Leisa Dishno (husband Mike Dishno), daughter, Lori Rios (husband Albert Rios Jr.), son David Johnson. He has (6) grandchildren, Meghan Trevino (husband Johnathan Trevino) Matthew Dishno (fiancé Yesenia Ruiz), Cali Radman, Brian Radman (wife Johanna Radman), Johnathan Johnson (wife Megan Johnson), and Gracie Johnson. He has (2) great granddaughters, Avery Trevino who is 5 years old, and Atalina Trevino who just turned One in July. He had so many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, that he loved with his entire heart.
George graduated from Clovis High School in 1956, that same year he started going “steady” with his girlfriend Loretta Meharg. They were married on July 23, 1960 and enjoyed 61+ years of marriage. George was proud to work in the family business, Johnson Air, which his father started in 1947. George was the Production Manager for Johnson Air, from 1963 to 2017 when he was finally persuaded to retire. George was known throughout the construction industry as a superior craftsman; his sheet metal craftsmanship was highly respected throughout the valley and beyond.
George was a loving husband and father with strong Christian beliefs that carried him throughout his life. Some of his greatest pleasures were fishing and hunting and taking long naps in mountain meadows. He also loved deep sea fishing and just being at the beach or near the ocean. Cayucos and Avila beaches were among of his favorites. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren whenever he could, and he was thrilled to hold his great granddaughters. His smile was infectious and lit up any room he entered. He was instantly loved by every animal and child who ever met him. He laughed easy and loved hard.
He was at peace and pain free thanks to so many who assisted him in his final days.
The family would very much like to thank ALL the dedicated doctors, nurses and caregivers of Bristol Hospice (formerly, ProHospice).
