W. Charles Smith

Wilford Charles Smith, age 89, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. He was born February 3, 1935 in Stockbridge, Michigan to the late Wilford Otis and Laura (Gilliver) Smith.

Charles was born in Stockbridge and raised in Westland and Wayne. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Charles enjoyed collecting coins, bowling, baseball, golf, hunting, Red Wings hockey, the Detroit Lions and U of M football. He loved to travel everywhere in his motorhome and up north to the cabin. He had a great sense of humor and loved to help others whenever he could. He will be greatly missed.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Lois; their children, David, Lori (Bryan) Stapp, Susan Neal, Sheryl Demick; grandchildren, Brandon (Danielle) Stapp, Cameron (Alana) Stapp, Madison Stapp, Shannon Stapp, Caitlyn Neal, Breanna Neal, Austin Demick; his siblings Lenora Glidden, Mary (Bill) Bregg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Daniel Smith.

A visitation for W. Charles will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, Michigan 48035. An instate will occur Monday, July 29, 2024 from 10:00 am until a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St Louis Catholic Parish, 24415 Crocker Blvd, Clinton Township, Michigan 48036. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.
