It was so wonderful today to celebrate the Life of Lynn Reynolds with family and friends today, So many wonderful stories and memories shared between all of us. Mike and Mark are blessed with beautiful wives and wonderful children that Lynn adored and loved. 
Thank you Mike and Mark for a beautiful day together. 

Sorry to learn of Lynn’s passing. She was such an asset to our Holy Rosary church.  Lynn actively served our Catholic Women’s club, Rosary Society, and Adoration Chapel.  We will miss her and keep you in our prayers.  God’s Blessings!

I always look forward to the July 4th family reunions in Traverse City that Lynn hosted. Not everyone could make it every year, but we always had a wonderful time catching up with everyone who made it <3

When I think of lifelong friends, Lynn is one of them. We have known each other since the ‘70’s and created so many wonderful, fun memories.  Taking family vacations together, giving parties at each other’s house, and oh, those pokers nights.  How the years have faded but the special memories have not. Lynn will be missed and has been much loved. Her strong faith has found a special place with God.

HELLO FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF LYNN REYNOLDS-- MY PARENTS WERE FRIENDS WITH LYNN'S PARENTS. AND, MY SISTERS AND I WERE FRIENDS WITH THEIR KIDS TOO. SO, I'VE KNOWN THEM ALL MY LIFE-- A LIFETIME OF MEMORIES I HAVE ALSO, ESPECIALLY OF THE LAKEHOUSE IN TRAVERSE CITY. A FAVORITE FAMILY OF MINE BECAUSE WE HAVE ALL KNOWN THE SAME PEOPLE FOR YEARS AND FOR YEARS TO COME.

I’ve known Lynn since childhood, but want to share a bit from our visits to her home on Lake Leelanau in more recent years. Whether we popped in for a visit, or overnight, she enjoyed talking about our families, my husband’s, Tom’s, photography and shared (stayed up way too late) our deep mutual faith in Jesus Christ.  Her home is a special place where, I hope, her boys will continue the rich tradition of love of family and friends dating back to the 1950’s when her parents first bought the cottage next door.  Lynn is greatly missed!

Lynn you and I came together at one of the lowest times in our lives.  But out of the grief we faced we found a beautiful friendship, grounded in faith.  Our boys were the same age and we helped each other through the up and downs of raising a teenage son.  I will always remember our Papa Vino long winded dinners, and our many late night phone calls just checking in with each other.  I will miss you so much my friend.  Enjoy dancing with Greg again!  

MSU graduation day, spring of 1992. Mrs. Reynolds inherited the role of de facto house mother arriving at 334 Michigan Ave to find her son Mike and his friends in rather dire need of some mothering as the celebrations the night before left us wrecked.  In addition to waking us up so we didn’t just miss the whole darn thing, she jumped into the role of caretaker and sent Mr. Reynolds on a mission of mercy to McDonalds to grab as many egg McMuffins and Diet Cokes as they would release to a single customer.

I remember throwing my gown on, and Lynn was not impressed. She helped me avoid public ridicule by demanding I put clothes on underneath the gown. I recall initially protesting under an ill-conceived banner of individual expression that was summarily dismissed with a convincing argument in very sharp tones punctuated with several references to our Lord and Savior that pants were not optional. Upon second presentation of myself for approval, she shot me a disapproving glance — apparently just taking the gown out of the packaging left some unseemly creases in perfect squares so that I resembled some sort of Origami failure. She either produced an iron and put it in my hand, or more likely did it for me as operating machinery was not a great idea at the time for me.

As Mike and I have recalled at various times through the years, the concluding comment of “hey, let’s get it together, ok?…” was a perfect summation of that really bright day, our MSU tomfoolery, and a mantra for life ahead. Thank you, Mrs. Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Reynolds in 1996; and a sister, Ellen Greendale.


Lynn was born July 5, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Victor and Evelyn (Mettler) Kitzul.
