Donald John Lyons Jr.

Donald John Lyons Jr. passed away on April 1, 2015. He was the loving husband of Anna for over 37 years. Don leaves behind his children; Diana (Steven) Powell, Karen (Rob) Montgomery, Dohn (Katie) Lyons, Tim Lyons and Stephen (Jessica) Lyons, grandchildren; Mackenzie, Stephen Jr., Madison, Lily, Stella and Anna, and siblings; Dave (Caroline) Lyons and Kathy (Brian) Ertzbischoff and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents Don and Margaret Lyons and his grandmother Marie Stanley.

Don was a Vietnam Veteran, he was part of the 4th ID of the United States Army. He retired after 30 years of service from UPS. He enjoyed reading (especially scriptures), traveling with his loving wife to Europe, England and the Southern United States, going on cruises and riding motorcycles. Don also had a passion for helping and ministering to people. He volunteered at the prison ministries and helped to celebrate recoveries of many kinds. Don enjoyed watching war movies, the History Channel and Indiana Jones, as well as many Detroit sports. He is going to be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The visitation will take place at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd. Clinton Township, MI on Friday, April 3 from 3-8 pm. The funeral service will be at Bethany Baptist Church 19700 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township MI 48035 on Saturday, April 4th at 11am with an instate time of 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Celebrate Recovery which is a 12 step program for life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups, 19700 15 Mile Rd. Clinton Township, MI 48035.
