Born on September 7, 1943, Diana was a graduate of St. Thomas High School in Detroit and proudly belonged to the class of 1961. Her high school years were marked by friendships and experiences that remained close to her heart throughout her life.
At the fountain counter of Sanders Ice Cream, Diana found the love of her life, John E. Forsell. Their love story blossomed, leading to a beautiful marriage in May of 1965. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love and companionship, sharing life's joys for 58 years.
Diana was a familiar and cherished presence at her children’s schools, dedicating her time as a school lunch volunteer. She was known for her caring nature, earning her the nickname "Lunch Mom" for her role in ensuring everyone felt welcome and well-fed.
Diana's professional life included her time at Sanders Ice Cream, Bakers Shoes and at Crowley's department store, where she worked diligently until her well-deserved retirement. Following her retirement her passion lay in her love for animals, be it dogs, cats, or birds. Diana's home was a sanctuary for these furry friends, a testament to her compassion.
Generosity defined Diana's character. She had a remarkable talent for crocheting and gave her creations freely, crafting beautiful afghans that warmed the hearts of her family and friends. She was described as a giver in every sense of the word, her hands and heart always open to those in need.
Diana's loyal nature knew no bounds. She was never empty-handed when visiting a friend or family member, bringing with her thoughtful gifts that expressed her love and affection. Later in life, she fondly referred to her age as "damn near 80," a testament to her enduring spirit and zest for life. She believed that age couldn't diminish her capacity to give.
Even in her passing, Diana's legacy of generosity lives on. She had an abundance of gifts still left to give, and these will be donated to various groups and organizations in the community. Her memory will forever be associated with the love and kindness she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Diana's absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of love, generosity, and warmth will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those who were touched by her presence.
Diana is survived by her loving husband John E. Forsell. Her beloved children Barbara (Ted) Chudzik and John L. (Lisa) Forsell.
