Cynthia Lynn Plankar, age 71, of New Baltimore, Michigan passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Cindy fought a courageous year with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. She endured a full craniotomy followed by radiation and chemotherapy accompanied by chronic severe nausea, giving it her all until the end.
Cindy was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She was a compassionate, loving, sunny, and caring woman. She worked as a medical office receptionist and as a secretary for a construction company. Cindy adored her many rescue dogs over the years. She was an avid supporter of numerous dog rescues and shelter organizations. Not only did Cindy love dogs she cared for all animals and birds. She also enjoyed ceramics. Cindy liked to travel and spend time in Frankenmuth, but her bucket list was to travel to California and England.
She is survived by her uncle Albert (Carol) Abdey; and cousins, Cheryl (Duwaun) Daniel, Dawn (Bob) Pollard, Mark (Louise) Pollard, Dale (Kris) Contratto, the late Kurt (Helen) Pollard, Lynne (Jack) Rossi, Diane (the late Steve) Gladden, Kathy (Bob) See, and numerous other cousins; her longtime friend, Denise Staples and her caring friend Phyllis Felker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Joseph Plankar & her mother, Grace Ellen Plankar; her brother Louis Joseph Plankar Jr.; her aunts, Lucy (Ken) Pollard, Mary Dowell, Florence (Ray) Mink, Evelyn (Don) Touroo, Elsie (Don) Ashbeck, and Dorothy (Don) Wright.
A visitation for Cindy will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home. The family will greet guests Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a Service, officiated by Pastor Kathy Neland at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Cindy will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. Because of the travel distance from the Funeral Home to the cemetery, there will not be a formal funeral procession to the cemetery. Those wishing to attend a brief graveside service will meet at the gravesite on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM. A cemetery map to the gravesite will be available at the funeral on Wednesday.
