He was born in Salem, IL on November 28, 1922. He grew up in Illmo, MO. He served in the Army Air Corp during WW II in the Pacific theatre and finished his service as a Master Sergeant in Japan.
He is survived by his wife Totty whom he met in Vincennes, IN when he was working for the Army Corps of Engineers. They have been married 63 years. They moved to Jackson in 1962. He worked for Puckett Machinery for 30 years retiring as Executive Vice President at the age of 70.
He is also survived by his sister Marta Shaw (Bill) and sister-in-law Martha Lou Underwood (Jim) all of Colombia, MO. His daughter Carol Ann McGehee (Glenn) of Jackson and sons David Sitton (Beth) of Brandon, Richard Sitton (Donna) of Saudi Arabia, and Donald Sitton (Vicki) of Houston, TX. He has 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a long time member of the Civitans. Myron was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran church and the extended church family was very important to him.
Visitation will be on October 7, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Wright-Ferguson Funeral Home, 350 High St., Jackson, MS and services will be on October 8, 2010 at 12:30 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Clinton, MS with visitation at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations may be made to the Myron Sitton Memorial fund to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1799 Clinton-Raymond Road, Clinton, MS 39056.
