Betty was born in New Haven, CT. to Philip P. Weber and Nell J. Weber (Jozwiakowski) on December 27, 1933. She went to school in New Haven. Betty moved from New Haven to Killingworth in late 1960s. Subsequently she moved to Clinton, where she stayed for many years, until moving back to Killingworth in 2002. She worked many different jobs, but most know her for her time at Stop & Shop for many years. After her “retirement” from Stop & Shop, she became a registrar of voters for the Town of Killingworth, CT. until her “retirement” 4 years ago.
She was involved in Cub Scouts for several years, and a member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was very active in her church activities at St. Lawrence Church in Killingworth, CT. where she organized countless rummage sales, sang in the church choir, served as a greeter, made tons of fudge for bake sales, and was a very active member of the Columbiettes, recently serving as President for several years. She was also an active member of the Valley Shore CERT team. She loved knitting, flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Madeleine and Benjamin.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Joan W. Lacroix.
Betty is survived by her son David, and his wife Michele, her son James and his ‘wife-like person’ Della Hodson, son Gregory, all of Tucson Az., and son Christopher and his wife Nadine “Liz” Werner of Somers, CT. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Madeleine and Benjamin Dennis of Somers, CT.
Calling hours will be held at Swan Funeral in Clinton on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 5-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 4th at 10am in St. Lawrence Church, Killingworth, CT. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook, CT.
