Mike met Blanche as a teen at Heights High and she became his forever love. They were married for 59 years. Together they built a loving family and a large group of close friends. Once Mike made a friend, the friendship lasted forever as shown by the fact that so many of his AZA pals considered Mike their best friend. Mike also found great success as a podiatrist. He not only had a private practice for over 55 years, but he was a longtime member of the faculty at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he was selected as teacher of the year several times. Mike also served as president of the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association. He was the first podiatrist in Ohio to attain staff privileges at a hospital. In addition, Mike founded and chaired residencies at Mt. Sinai Hospital and St. Vincent Charity Hospital. He was chief of podiatry at each of those hospitals.
In his leisure time, Mike played golf and softball and collected a massive number of jokes best told with a Yiddish accent. Mike’s love of babies and toddlers found expression in his volunteer work at Jewish Day Nursery where over the years dozens of children loved their “Zayde”.
Mike will surely be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
