Someone mentioned Marco Island the other day and Jeff came to mind.   Sorry to see that he has passed.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so sad to hear of Jefferys passing. Had I known at the time of his passing, I would have paid my respects earlier.  When I cared for him in the past, I had many conversations with him and his beautiful wife Margaret . It was my pleasure to care for you Jeffery.
May God watch over you Jeffery, and your wife and family and friends.

Jeff was inspiration to many. I know how he cared for his clients and researched their cases.  I saw it first hand. I was pulling into my driveway many years ago and saw Jeff in his wheelchair zipping back and forth in the middle of the street. He was measuring the incline from the railroad tracks to where the street became level. It was such a surprise to see him doing his own investigation when I knew he had a big team. It showed me he wanted to understand all the dynamics of that tragic case. We both got a good laugh out of seeing one another in the middle of the street.
He was a good companion and husband to my friend, Margaret, for over 30 years. I am thankful she had him in her life . He will be missed by many.

As a physical therapist, I remember taking care of Jeffrey at Highland View Hospital when it was where Eaton headquarters is today. He was always upbeat and positive regarding his future and despite his severe disability he made a significant life for himself and helped many.

The group of us who came together at the Law School in the Fall 1969, and who would be the Class of 1972, was by today's standards woefully non-diverse. But we all had varied life experiences to that point and had faced challenges of all sorts getting to law school. We met our new classmate Jeff Friedman and his personal challenge was immediately apparent, as was the fact of his achievement in life to that point. Right away you knew that this guy was going to be good to be around. And he was, throughout our time as law students. He was our good friend and colleague in and out of class. However our class would be measured, Jeff added much value. He was an able student, self-confident, articulate, and caring in his relationships with all of us and the entire Law School community. What we quietly knew then, and what we understand and appreciate today, is how much Jeff inspired us as law students. Then he continued to inspire us for nearly 50 years in his career as a successful trial lawyer and advocate for so many good causes. His respect and prominence, and triumph over the physical adversity he faced, was such that he no doubt continued to inspire law students. I know that he did so for practitioners, and the Cleveland legal community was enriched.

Jeff and I met in 1995, after my 14 year old son died. Jeff was not only willing and able to help me deal with what had happened, he was compassionate and caring. I have never forgotten him. So sorry for your loss of Jeff.

Jeff was a fine lawyer and person. I got to know him decades ago and he told me what had happened as a youth and that he would continue to overcome his limitation, which he did. Smart, tough and giving to his colleagues and clients. He once offered us a place on Marco when Sanibel got hit hard. Jeff will be missed but not forgotten. He was a lawyer's lawyer. 

I was so sad to learn of Jeff's passing.  As teenagers, we worked at Garfinkel Shoes before Jeff had his life-changing accident.  In 1975 he came (in a van) to my grandfather's funeral.  My father (Bert Garfinkel) was truly touched by this important gesture.  Jeff's courage and determination were admirable.

My most sincere condolences for your loss. Jeff was a tremendous advocate and a great friend to our family. He will be missed, may his memory be a blessing to the family.
