Igor Gofman was born on November 17, 1961 to his adoring parents Bella and Anatoly (dec.) Gofman in Odessa, Ukraine. He unknowingly attended the same grade school as his lifelong partner Yelena, who he would meet only later after immigrating to the United States in 1979.
In Odessa, Igor attended a vocational school for making suits. Although he never went into the suit making business, his love of dressing sharp and being organized was always evident. In every aspect of his life, he always strived for perfection and always had a careful approach and appreciation for quality.
Igor immigrated to Cleveland with his parents, grandparents, his younger brother Uri, and many close cousins and wonderful family. He earned an accounting degree and over his life owned multiple businesses and worked in several industries. He eventually found his calling, helping others as a case worker at Jewish Family Services for over a decade.
It was in Cleveland that Igor met his wonderful wife, Yelena. Married at a young age, they raised two caring sons, Richard and Allen. Igor was a loyal, loving and an active dad supporting his family. He was an avid collector and enjoyed hosting large gatherings of family and friends. He loved singing and playing accordion as a young man and always loved watching musical concerts on TV with Yelena.
He always welcomed Richard's wife, Erika and Allen's wife, Marika, and was a supportive and loving father-in-law. But most of all Igor was a dedicated and incredible grandfather.
Igor is survived by his devoted wife Yelena; Loving Sons Richard (Erika) and Allen (Marika); cherished grandchildren Toby, Hailey, Lev, Brea and Remi; his mother Bella, dear brother Uri (Milana) and dearest nieces and nephews Ranan, Shaini and Layla.
