Arthur was the beloved son of Arlene Gugick (nee Kirschenbaum) and the late Fredric Gugick; devoted father of Benjamin and Jason Gugick; dear brother of the late Steven Gugick; close friend of his former wife Michelle Gugick; dear companion of the late Barbara Becker.
Beachwood City Schools is mourning the loss of beloved high school math teacher Arthur Gugick. He was celebrated in the classroom and at Brickworld. Brickworld is a LEGO convention where people share their creations.
Arthur was featured in a Washington Post story about the convention in 2010. They referred to him as a rock star in the Lego world. He used calculus and algebra to build some of his creations and to demonstrate math to his students. His ability to show real-world applications for the math he taught and be creative with his students made an impact. Explore the online Art gallery at https://www.arthurgugick.com/
In 2017/2018, Arthur had a legendary opportunity. He traveled the world with a family as their children's private tutor. They visited numerous countries across the continents, learning about the diverse cultures of our world. See his blog at https://80daze.com/.
Social media is filled with posts from current and former students talking about what an amazing teacher Gugick was.
